Poem Category:  Nature Poems

Poet:  Emily Pauline Johnson (Tekahionwake)

Poet Biography:
Emily Pauline Johnson (1861-1914) was a Canadian Poet and is regarded as one of Canada's most popular and successful entertainers at the turn-of-the-century. Her use of "Tekahionwake" originates in that she was the daughter of a Mohawk Native-Canadian father and an English mother, Pauline Johnson.
